Excavation Day!

houselogo.jpgO happy day!

The excavators came today, and now I have a rather large hole in the ground. It seems to me that my house is actually going to be generously-sized. I was unable to be there while it was being dug, due to my having to work overtime, but I visited the site this evening. After dark. With a flashlight.

I sent my father to check in on the excavators today in my stead, and I lent him my camera, so he took some pictures. And here they are:

Bully! Porter

Boulevard’s Bully! Porter is not the best porter I’ve ever had, but let’s remember that I’ve never met a porter I didn’t like, shall we? The flavor of the roasted malt was a bit muted, and there was a touch too much bitterness, and the varying flavors weren’t quite as distinct as I would have liked, but still - it’s a porter. You have to like it.

Overtime

They’ve approved overtime for this week, so I’ve been working as much as I can. Putting in some long hours, so I’m probably not going to be able to blog very much.

Bob’s 47

So, I picked up a Boulevard Brewing Company’s Variety Pack. It’s a box containing 12 bottles of beer: 2 each of Boulevard’s Pale Ale, Unfiltered Wheat, Lunar Ale, Bully! Porter, Dry Stout, and Bob’s 47 Munich-style Lager. The first beer I drank from it was a Lunar Ale, which I briefly mentioned here.

But last night, I tried Bob’s 47 Munich-style Lager. I’m not sure what makes a lager “Munich-style,” but this is the only lager beer that Boulevard makes. Bob’s 47 is a light amber-colored beer that tastes not unlike many pale ales I’ve had. It’s got a nice maltiness, but I thought that it went just a tad bit overboard with the two types of hops - hence my observation about tasting like a pale ale. A very nice beer indeed, all things considered.
