Boulevard Irish Ale

Boulevard Brewing Company’s spring seasonal (available January through April) pours a beautiful coppery-red color with a decent creamy long-lived head. The taste is pleasant, if a bit uninspired. It has a bit of a bitter aftertaste, but it’s not very prevalent. Boulevard’s website claims that it is made from a mix of pale and roasting malts. The taste rather bears this out, as I think the pale malts have a rather distinctive flavor which I can detect.

Like Boulevard’s Lunar Ale, it takes some getting used to, but in the end I found it a nice beer.

Belligerence around the world

The U.S. parks the U.S.S. Cole off the coast of Lebonon as a show of support for “regional stability,” a Hezbollah member of the Lebanese Parliament calls it a “threat,” (no, really?) and Saudi Arabia tells its citizens to leave Lebanon. Think something might be about to happen?

Oh, and the U.S. launched airstrikes against some terrorist leader in Somalia.
